Happy Tuesday. Hope everyone had a great week. On Saturday, I did a soft launch of the new look for the website, Uncomfortably Dark Indie Horror, a community website. So far, reactions have been great. I hope you get a minute to check out the new layout and features. More will be added prior to the official launch in June. The newsletter will switch to a weekly format to allow proper promotion of features, reviews, and interviews.
The review page for Rachel Schommer also launched and she did her first blog post to introduce herself to everyone. Please take a minute to check out the blog and say “Hi” to Rachel! There will be two more members of the team announced over the next two weeks or so plus more details on new site features as they go live.
On Saturday, I had the absolute pleasure to join the Dead Headspace podcast in interviewing Owen King. He was such a delight to speak to and we had a great discussion about his new novel, The Curator, working with his father on Sleeping Beauties, on all things writing and more. I hope you will watch the episode as time allows. It will air on May 15. Also, last night, we hosted a panel with Paul Tremblay, John Langan, Victor Lavalle, Sarah Langan, Laird Barron, and Livia Llewellyn to discuss what it was like rising up together in the author world, how important close friendships are, and all things authorly. Also, Paul Tremblay’s body parts may have been divvied up. You’ll have to watch to see who claimed which parts!
For this month, I have a surprise release coming out on May 25th. Stay tuned for details on that. My poetry collection comes out in late June, plus a godless short on June 21. I will be haunting Another Con over Memorial Day weekend, say “hello” if you see me! I have several events I am preparing for this summer, including StokerCon, Living Dead weekend, Texas AuthorCon, and more.
Make sure to follow my Patreon for exclusives, free books, and more and join the newsletter, if you are not already subscribed to stay up to date on all the indie horror news that I can jam into a week!
See you next week! Until then, I am dark and always uncomfortable.
