Hello All!
For this week, I was able to finish a new short story for an anthology invite that I’m excited about. It took a weird twist that even I did not see coming and I’m truly pleased with the overall outcome. More details on that, once I have final approval. I received a new anthology invite over the weekend as well that I’m excited for, so there is much to come as this year progresses.
The weekly reviews on the site this week were awesome, and we had another great interview for Black History Month. Ashon Ruffins, author of Descent of a Broken Man, joined us for an in-depth interview on his career and what being an author of color means to him. I have more great authors joining us in the coming weeks for this series, so make sure you check them out. If you didn't know, you can also order signed copies of any of my books on the website as well as order logo merch such as coffee mugs, t-shirts, and hoodies. Click link for the site.
For author chats this week, I had a lovely call with author Paul Flewitt from across the pond and it was delightful to just talk shop without any formality or agenda. I also was able to spend some time talking to author Aron Beauregard as a follow up to his new course “The Keys to Self-Publishing & Marketing Horror” which was a great course wherein he goes in depth on his process and techniques for his marketing strategy and other self-publishing tips. Even though I have been in the business for a couple of years now, I was able to take away a lot of knowledge from both the course and the discussion. If you are an author, new or established, and Aron offers this class again, I highly recommend it.
I did get delivery confirmation for the Trapped hardcovers, and I am expecting them to show up any day now. The packages are prepped and ready to be sent back out. Tracking will follow. Please remember to get one of these limited-edition hardcovers, you need to order them on the site or pick one up at Authorcon.
On the writing front, The Generator is nearing the final stretch and more work was done on Bishop: Man vs Monster. I had a call about this story tonight with my co-author about a couple of key plot points and I’m very excited as to where the story is going. You can always get ongoing content on my Patreon here where I am writing a novella week by week, as well as browse the newsletters, poetry, and see exclusive content from myself and a few special guests along the way.
The Indie Horror page continues to expand, and more plans have been outlined for the full site. I hope to launch the independent site in June and cannot wait to share it with the community.
That’s all for my updates for this week. I am here. I am dark and always uncomfortable. How was your week?
